A market in which mortgage securities, such as certificates, bonds, and mortgage-backed securities, are traded, which are issued by banks, savings banks, credit cooperatives, financing entities or mortgage credit institutions, i.e., the set of official credit entities. These mortgage securities are financial instruments that provide the institutions with the resources necessary for the financing of the construction and sale of real estate.
